If you monitor cycling performance with Heart Rate (HR) and Cadence (or Speed) monitors, you might give this some thought. I recently hit a MaxHR wall where increased Power was not accompanied by an elevated HR to my pre-calculated Zone 5. At the time I was using the same HR Zones for running and cycling. Perhaps this was not optimal. Despite full effort, I was having trouble getting my HR up while cycling yet had no problems while running. So, I calculated my Lactate Threshold (LT) HR and based my cycling HR training zones on that. Here is a somewhat crude method for calculating LTHR by Joe Friel. Now I'm back on track and everything is in sync.
